Start "Auto record" in LifeKnot on Apple Watch, and it records only while it hears voices. The audio is sent to your iPhone and transcribed on the iPhone with Apple's speech recognition (audio never leaves your iPhone). LifeKnot then summarizes each conversation and, at night (11 pm by default; you can change it in Settings), writes that day's journal entry and cover illustration.

You can also record on iPhone (the microphone button at the top left of the Today screen). Apple Watch lets you capture your day without taking out your phone.

Automatically, 24 hours after transcription and summarization are complete. Text, summaries and journal entries remain. Audio from conversations without your own voice is also deleted after 24 hours.

An iPhone running iOS 26 or later that supports Apple's on-device transcription. Recording features are not available on unsupported iPhones.

On the conversation screen you can exclude any speaker as a background voice; their remarks are not used in summaries, journal entries or answers. Recording laws differ by country and state — tell people you're recording and follow the rules where you are.

Open LifeKnot on Apple Watch. It automatically returns to the state it was in before it stopped (recording or paused).

If the Watch app ends while recording, a "stopped" notification arrives on your Watch after a while (about 20 minutes). When you see it, open LifeKnot.

• Open LifeKnot on your iPhone once. It passes your subscription status to the Watch (also needed after updating the app).
• Check that your subscription is active in Settings › Subscription. Without a subscription, new recording is unavailable.
• At places you marked as no-record, recording pauses automatically.
• Recording stops when the Watch is low on storage.

One auto-renewing monthly subscription. In Japan it is ¥1,800 per month (tax included); prices in other regions are shown on the App Store (for example, US$9.99 per month in the United States). There is no free trial and no free plan. Recording time is unlimited. Journal entries and cover illustrations are 1 per day each (no regeneration, today and yesterday only), and questions are limited to 30 per day.

In iPhone Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › LifeKnot, or in LifeKnot under Settings › Subscription › Manage or cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to stop the next renewal. You can keep using LifeKnot until the end of the period you paid for.

Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.

Sign in to the App Store with the Apple ID you purchased with, use "Sign in with Apple" in LifeKnot with the same Apple ID, then tap Settings › Subscription › Restore Purchases.

Apple collects subscription payments, so refunds are decided by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple's "Report a Problem"). We cannot process refunds directly.

New recording and AI features (summaries, journal entries, cover illustrations, questions) stop. You can still read, search, export and delete your existing records.

Settings › Export records lets you export a chosen period or everything (Markdown, PDF and JSON), even after your subscription ends. Audio is not included.

Delete it from the conversation screen. Its audio, text, summary, suggested tasks, question history that relied on it, and its items in the journal are deleted too.

Settings › Delete Account. You sign in with Apple again to confirm. LifeKnot's records on that iPhone and your records on our relay server are deleted and cannot be restored.

To verify subscriptions and prevent overuse, only the subscription's ID and status and daily usage counts and amounts are kept, under a number with no name or email, while the subscription lasts and for 30 days after it ends (no conversation or journal contents).

Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel first.
